Northern Print Exhibition
31.10.18 - 03.11.18
[Northern Print, Newcastle]
To conclude my InPrint bursary I installed KILN tent at Northern Print using the rafters of the building. During the week we created embossments of constellations with pasta as part of inky print club with primary school age children, I asked visitors to create a recipe card for a memorable moment or meal where they have given or received hospitality, I served alphabet soup and 'Take the Biscuit' biscuits and talked with visitors about what hospitality means and looks like in contemporary life.
The view from entering Northern Print's front door.
We hung the tent fabric from the building's rafters.
The tent made the building feel more intimate and home-like.
Visitors were encouraged to create their own recipe card or a memorable meal or moment where they had given or received hospitality.
Triptic (monoprint, lasercut, goldleaf). Memorable meals (mono print, screen print, etching, laser cut, collage, paint)
Completed recipe cards were added to tbge archive box.
'Take the Biscuit' biscuits
Alphabet soup.
Inky Print Club - we made embossments of constellations (to match the constellations on the tent fabric) using pasta.
Both the adults and the children enjoyed making their embossments underneath the constellation canopy of the tent.
