UCCF Forum Residency
26.08.18 - 01.09.18
[Quinta, Oswestry]
A week of inspiring 1500 Christian students and staff to think about how they can creatively think about hospitality in their own contexts and to explore more creative ways to share their faith.
This was organised by UCCF (University and Colleges Christian Fellowship) as part of Forum, which is a training week for students involved in Christian Unions across the UK.
I set KILN tent up in the cafe and games tent.
I liked the nature of it being a tent within a tent.
I opened the week with a spoken word performance about the essential holiness of the humble meal and how we can breathe artistic hospitality in all that we do.
The blank recipe cards ready to be created.
Students made their own prints of memorable meals/moments where they have experienced hospitality. Whilst they made their prints we discussed hospitality snd how this affects sharing faith.
Finished recipe cards were hung back on the wall. At the end of the week they joined the KILN recipe card archive.
Everyone who took part received a 'Taking the Biscuit' biscuit and recipe card to encourage them to invite someone to share a homemade biscuit and cuppa in their own homes.
I helped host a meal for students in the art field with alphabet soup (to think through hospitality in conversations) and Take the Biscuit biscuits (to think about hospitality in their homes).
Serving up soup.
All the art students with their 'Take the Biscuit' biscuits.
